Introducing new ACUVUE OASYS with Transition Light Intelligent Technology, the first-of-its-kind contact lens that seamlessly adapts to changing light to provide all-day soothing vision.
Theses contact lenses quickly and seamlessly adapt to balance the amount of indoor and outdoor light entering the eye, including filtering blue light and blocking harmful UV rays. They are built with Light Intelligent Technology to reduce the stressful impact that light can have on your eyes.
ACUVUE OASYS with Transitions is specifically designed to provide the ability to see comfortably in bright light while minimizing the change to the eye’s appearance.
The lenses are always on, whether indoors or outdoors. They are designed to adapt automatically—becoming lighter or darker—in response to changing light. Even in their clearest state, they are filtering light.
They activate in less than a minute, and quickly fade from dark to clear (within 90 seconds) when going from outdoors to indoors.
Why ACUVUE OASYS with Transitions?
- Dynamically filters and reduces exposure to bright light, indoors and outdoors
- Helps filter blue light
- Designed to offer the highest level of UV protection in contact lenses
- Less squinting when subjected to bright light
- Helps eyes recover up to 5 seconds faster when subjected to bright light
- Reduces halos and starbursts at night
The lenses become darker when activated by UV and/or HEV light. They were specifically designed to provide patient benefits while minimizing the change to the appearance of the eye. While outdoors, the level of activation is always changing in response to the light, so in most situations the lens isn’t in the darkest state. These lenses also fade back to clear quickly when you come inside.
While these lenses do provide UV protection to the areas they cover, other parts of the eye and surrounding areas are still exposed to UV light. For that reason, ACUVUE OASYS with Transitions is not intended as a replacement for sunglasses. The lenses can be worn with nonprescription sunglasses and should be considered a part of a total light management suite of solutions.
These lenses can be worn while driving—during the day or at night. ACUVUE OASYS with Transitions is expected to activate in the car based on the levels of high-energy visible (HEV) light and UV light transmitted through the side windows, because windshields block nearly 100% of UV light.
